The Story

Kevin and I met in the winter of 2006. We were introduced by a mutual friend, and while I wouldn't call it love at first sight, I definitely had an instant crush. He left with his friend shortly after, and I figured I wouldn't see him again. We kept running into each other, and really hit it off. Neither of us were looking for a relationship at the time, and about 2 months into hanging out, we called it quits and stopped seeing each other.  That lasted 2 weeks. We both realized this was something we didn't want to miss out on, and we would see where it went. Fast forward 3 years...now we're getting married!

The Proposal

It was January 3rd, 2009. I was secretly hoping to get a ring for Christmas, but I was perfectly content with my ipod nano, and figured Kevin wasn't quite ready to make that commitment. "Oh well, I guess I'd be ok waiting another year," I thought to myself. I had always wanted a summer wedding, and with summer fast approaching and no ring, I just didn't see how I could pull it off.

This particular night was not unusual. We went to the bowling alley to hang out with a group of friends, played some pool , had a grand old time. We came back to my house at around midnight, and I was making some mac & cheese. Kevin was saying the sweetest things, carrying on about how he loved me more, how I had turned him into a better man, how he wanted to be with me forever. I returned the sentiment, telling him I loved him more, and that I, too, wanted to be with him forever. This mushiness goes on for a bit longer, and I look over to see my mac & cheese cooking away. Not wanting to interrupt his affectionate speech, I turn off the burner.

That was a good decison, because Kevin then told me he wanted to grow old with me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. I did not see this one coming! Even when he got down on one knee I was still not sure this was coming. I began to cry like a little baby. I nodded my head, got down on my knees and was hugging him. After a little pause, he said, "So...is that a yes?" I said yes, he put the ring on, and we spent the next few hours talking about everything that was to come.

The Wedding

Kevin and I will be getting married on August 8, 2009, in my hometown in Montana. It's coming much quicker than I thought!!
